PM Flaunts 10 Wins While LF Reconsiders His Place In Football
BS and CM Grab 9 Victories; The Rest Remain In The Hunt
Through five weeks, it is the story of the biggest winners and the biggest loser… yes, loser is singular in this edition. Overall, it was another hard-fought week with some great matchups on display. We had a little bit of everything: a few blowouts, a handful of back-and-forth battles decided on the final drives and/or by a questionable coaching decision… oh, and an inexplicable tie game. However the outcomes affected your performance, it was entertaining nonetheless!
PM found himself on the right side of Week 5 history, as his 10 wins led the way and moved him three games closer to the top. Although he got off to a slow start, he wants membership to know that was then and this is now. He looks to build on this momentum and continue his climb to the top without looking back. We see you, PM!
BS and CM were also celebrating trips to the winners’ circle, each shaving some ground off the lead and raising a few eyebrows in the process. SS and MS followed with 8 wins, which didn’t excite them much initially… until they saw our leaders DP and KS log 7. That meant another step in the right direction for the two, warranting a handshake between them.
Moral of the Week 5 story: the standings got a little tighter, as most members either gained ground or held serve… all but two. KB has remained steadfast in his visitors’ team strategy, which fared better than LF’s apparent lack of strategy to this point. With only 4 wins on the week, many close to him have come out and said that he is a shell of his former self. Rumor has it he is grinding film day and night in his basement, poised to make a return to glory. Skeptics scoff, and the Week at a Glance page whispers, “What have you done for me lately?” I can only imagine these are his thoughts, but what do I know…
For the first time this season, we have no loners. Either there were simply too many matchups that could go either way, or membership didn’t like the underdogs on the board. Whatever the case, I’m sure it won’t be long before someone decides to take a risk all on their own.
Five weeks are in the books, and PM looks to repeat his performance as KS and DP continue to exchange blows at the top. With frustrations growing between them over who really deserves to be top dog, we’re set up for another exciting week of football.
Best of luck to all, and Go Dodgers!!
Your President,
LF
